Presidential Election hotting up

Presidential election is getting closer and with it the increase in campaigns and violence. When a election become tightly contested there usually is an increase in violence. I usually tend to avoid elections simple because I have no interest in the politicians and politics in general , but with so much hype around this one it is hard not to be part of it even if you try. Whether its a funeral , wedding or just a small tea break it is the main point of discussion. You simply can't avoid hearing about it. When your not interested about it you can generally have fun hearing different versions of the same story. In the precious little time I do hang around people I have made the following observations.
  • No one is certain who will win the election , Almost everyone can come up with stats and numbers showing there candidate will win
  • Real heroes of the war are well and truly forgotten , with due respect to MR's political leadership and SF's military leadership , winning the war wouldn't have being possible without the soldiers who sacrificed there lives in the front line.
  • Almost everyone accepts the fact that the government officials are corrupt , while SF wants power to end this corruption he still hasn't answered the corruption allegations made against him. It is generally accepted among both parties that corruption will prevail as long as there are politicians.
  • People support parties more than policies , most have already made up there mind who to vote and nothing said and done will change that.
  • Almost EVERYONE wants a change and almost EVERYONE knows that it will not happen , and all this allegations will go away as soon as the elections are over.

Sweet deal with Bluefur over

My sweet hosting plan with Bluefur has apparently run out. My make money blogging blog was hosted with Bluefur and it was 10$ per year which is less than a dollar per month. It was a Christmas promotion they did and it sure was a sweet deal. Well the promotion period is over and I'm switching back to a normal plan. I missed the mail asking me to renew so my main blog is not accessible now but hopefully it will be up soon :-) .

Visit to Linkoping Sweden

My last post was about how I blogged from the airport and I was hoping I would find similar service in other air ports as well. Well other air ports do have the service but you have to pay for it. So my plan of blogging my journey all went wrong. I thought the Sweden trip deserved its very own blog but since hub pages have a better chance of out performing blogspot blogs I decided to write some hubs about different places I visited while in Linkoping. One thing you can't miss when in Linkoping is the cathedral so my first hub was about the Linkoping cathedral. Then I made a hub about old Swedish town Gamla Linkoping. I did put some effort to make them nice so I hope you guys enjoy them.

Blogging from the airport

At the airport now and have some time to kill , so was looking for some thing to do and found a free Internet booth. The check in process went smoothly , the guy at the counter knew some of my friends at IFS so didn't have much trouble getting in and he helped me out as well. The place is almost deserted , I wasn't expecting huge crowd but I surely expected more than this , already missing people back home , but at least I'm traveling with two others which is a comfort. If all goes well I'll be going to Linkoping railway station by mid day tomorrow. Mom has packed plenty of winter clothes and don't know whether I'll be really needing them , better safe than sorry I guess , there will be a transit in Doha , maybe they also have free Internet access :)

Shopping for winter clothes in House of Fashion

With the visit to Sweden getting close I suddenly realized that I haven't actually brought winter clothes. I tend to do things much better when they are done at the last moment. So put aside everything and went to House of Fashion to buy some winter clothing. Lucking there was a list of things to buy so you don't have to worry much about figuring out what to buy. It has all the kinds of clothes you hope to buy so didn't have trouble buying everything from there. The best thing was it was relatively cheap as well , I was hoping that it would cost me around 20k to buy all the stuff in the list but I managed to do it in around 12k , that is after buying some T-shirts and shorts for my brother as well. This is my first time going out from Sri Lanka so I'm exited about it but at the same time I'm a bit nervous as well. One good thing is my Manager in Sweden seems to be readying everything for me from mobile phones to bus passes. Well just two more days to go :-)
